Patriots Down the Trojans

The Patriot volleyball team headed to Snyder on Tuesday, September 12 with an aggressive mentality and hopes of bringing home a great win.

And win is exactly what they did at all levels.

The JV team started the charge and swept the Trojans in two sets.

The Varsity then followed and took them in three sets with scores of 25-16, 25-18, and 25-17.

“We didn’t play like we wanted to,” junior Kaegan Held said.  “We had a slow start and we let them have too many points each set. Fortunately, we got them in three and it was still a good win!”

Held set her team up well, finishing the night with 31 set assists.  The Patriots led a very balanced attack with junior, Hannah Kasik, leading the team with 9 kills. Junior Paige Moore contributed 7, and senior Sydney Folken had 8 kills and 2 blocks.  Junior, Halee Steffensmeier recorded 18 digs.

Assistant coach, Breanna Wietfeld stated, “Tuesday night’s game allowed both levels to have the opportunity to focus in on their roles for the team—as we say ‘do their job’. We took this match and worked on being consistent players and supporting one another. It was great to see both teams go home with wins.”

The Patriots current varsity record is 3-1.
