Patriots Finish Third in the Conference Tournament

After working hard all summer and all season, the Patriot volleyball team had high hopes for the conference tournament this year!

The Patriots were seeded 3rd out of 15 teams this year, the highest they have ever been seeded in the history of the Patriot program.  And they finished the tournament in third place!

In the first round of the tournament, the Pats defeated the #14 seeded Oakland-Craig Knights.  In the second round, they beat #6 seed Tekameh-Herman.

The third round brought the Pats face to face with the #2 seeded Stanton Mustangs on October 14.

This was a close match, but unfortunately the Pats couldn’t finish out on top. The lost both sets with a score of 21-25.

Next, the Patriots had to leave that loss behind and prepare mentally for their next opponent, #4 Wisner-Pilger.  This was the consolation game of the tournament.  The Pats had to play aggressively to get the win, and they did just that!  They defeated the Gators in 2 sets, 25-23 and 25-15.

3rd place is the highest the Patriots have ever finished in the Conference volleyball tournament!  #1 seed North Bend won the tournament with #2 seed Stanton finished second.

Junior Kaegan Held said, “Coming in to conference we knew we were going to have some tough competition, but I think we started high and ended even higher. We played consistent and came home with 3rd place, which we were all very excited about!”

Head Coach Schneider said,” The conference tournament was a huge highlight for our season! There are a lot of tough teams in our conference so being seeded 3rd and finishing 3rd speaks volumes about our program and about how hard these girls are working! They definitely deserved every bit of that 3rd place finish!
