Student Opinion Column: Christmas is Cherished Holiday
Launch the media gallery 1 playerWe all have that one holiday that we secretly hold dearer than the others. For some it is Thanksgiving, others Valentine's Day, Easter or many others.
My favorite holiday is, without a doubt, Christmas. Christmas is just one of those holidays that gets me excited. From setting up the Christmas tree whether it be real or fake, to untangling the Christmas lights and putting decorations on the tree, I just love it.
Another aspect that puts Christmas in front of the other holidays is that it just puts people in a great mood. What’s not to love? Snow is glistening on the ground and it just looks beautiful outside. The snow makes everything look brighter and makes me happier. And if I’m lucky, I can even get a snow day!
And don’t forget the Christmas music! I could sing along to Christmas carols for days and never tire of it. It brings happiness and joy to people.
Finally, Christmas is also a time of giving to people. Not only do you receive gifts, but you also give them. The best part for me is donating toys or even clothes to those who don’t have anything that special. It gives me a warm feeling on the inside.
All in all, Christmas is one of the best holidays to me because it’s just one of those times where everything is merrier. Christmas 2017 has already come and gone, and this year was just as special as any. As the tree comes down and decorations put away, I will sip my hot cocoa waiting patiently for Christmas to come around again!
