Loseke and Becerril Named “Students of the Month”

Throughout the school year there have been many deserving students of the month at Leigh High School, and this month was no different

But two outstanding students stood out this month and won the award. The March “Students of the Month” were Emily Loseke and Kevin Becerril.

Emily is the daughter of Ben and Pam Loseke. This is the second time she has won this award.

Emily participates in volleyball, basketball, track, band, journalism, FCCLA, FBLA and One-Act.  Her favorite class is art.

Outside of school Emily has many hobbies. She enjoys participating in St. John’s Youth Group, teaching Sunday school, and being outside.  She is also a member of the All-Star 4-H club. After high school Emily plans to be a teacher or a writer.

“I really appreciate my hard work being noticed and the support I get from the people in the school and the community. This award is an honor, and I’m glad the teachers notice our hard work.”

Here is what Emily’s teachers had to say about her:

--“Emily is a pleasant, hard-working young lady. She strives to get good grades and to be a good person. She is also actively involved in many extra-curricular activities and still manages to maintain her grades.”

--“Emily is an extremely hard worker and very helpful person. She is always polite, kind, and friendly to everyone in their school.”

-- “Emily works hard to maintain her grades and has been very involved in activities this year. She took on an FCCLA STAR project this fall and brought home a gold medal for their efforts in January. “

--“Emily always has a pleasant smile on her face and works hard at everything she does.”

Our other student of the month is Kevin Becerril.  Kevin is the son of Juan and Luz Becerril.

Some of Kevin’s hobbies include playing soccer and baseball at his house. His favorite class is writing. Kevin would like to be an architect and maybe a sheriff one day.

“I’m grateful that the faculty nominated me as the “Student of the Month” of March. Thanks to the faculty for helping me out when I needed them. Thanks for the award.”

Here’s what some of Kevin’s teachers had to say about him:

--“Kevin is a very hard worker! He is respectful, polite, listens, and is fun to have in class. He is always on top of his homework, asks great questions, and is highly motivated to learn.”

--“Kevin is always friendly, polite, and upbeat. His personality is contagious and he never fails to make others smile.”

--“Kevin is a very hard working and respectful kid. Willing to help out wherever needed and gives his best effort in class.”

Congratulations to both of these students!
