Nicole Kabes is New Second Grade Teacher

There are several new faces the kids have gotten used to at Leigh Elementary this year, and one of those is new second-grade teacher, Mrs. Nicole Kabes.

Mrs. Kabes past jobs have included working in Central City and Lindsay. At both schools she was the second grade teacher. In Central City she coached JH volleyball, and in Lindsay she was the co-assistant volleyball coach.

Mrs. Kabes grew up in Lindsay and graduated from Holy Family. She began her college career at Southeast in Lincoln thinking she was going to be a nurse. She decided to change career paths after one year after realizing she had a passion for education.  From there, she continued her education at Wayne State College.

She replaces former second-grade teacher, Kylie Hollatz, who changed roles to Librarian/Technology Coordinator.

Of her new role, Nicole states that she has most enjoyed getting to know her students as well as the Leigh community.

Nicole recently married Kenton Kabes in May.  The live on a farm outside of Leigh. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, cleaning, gardening, and traveling.

The staff and students welcome Mrs. Kabes to the Leigh school and community!
