Patriots Take Down Titans
The Patriot volleyball team took on the Twin River Titans in Genoa on Tuesday, September 18. The Patriots brought C, JV and Varsity teams and left with wins on all three levels.
In the first game of the night, the C-team took the Titans in 3. Clarkson Freshman, Alexis Knapp, led the team with 3 kills.
The JV followed suit, beating the Titans in the first two sets, 25-6 and 25-15. Leigh Freshman, Kennedy Settje, led the team with 4 kills.
Finally the Varsity got their time to shine. The Patriots fell short the first set, 18-25. They came back out and fought hard the next 3, winning the next three sets 25-18, 25-21, and 25-22.
Leigh Senior, Holly Kuhr, commented, “Twin River was a good game for us. Our opponents came out more aggressive than when we played them in the Stanton Tournament. We came together as a team and knew we had to keep up our intensity. We played hard and got the win!”
Assistant coach Briana Wietfeld added, “The Patriots came out on top against Twin River. All levels worked hard and stayed focused on doing the little things right. We saw some aggressive and disciplined plays!”
