Tech Tips

Shout Outs This Week:

Melissa’s 6th graders created a Voting Video using a blue screen.

Kim L.’s 3rd graders read their creepy stories in front of the blue screen.

5th grade tech class explored Ozobots creating code with color.

Karen Haase (NE school lawyer):  Karen talked to 4th-12th graders at Clarkson about online/social media safety.  She gave many examples of court cases she has tried or found in the news where students have been taken to court.  This was very informative for our students about the dangers out there but also how to use the “Grandma” rule. If you wouldn’t say/show it to your grandma then do not post it.

Tip #1:

https://www.peardeck.com/  Watch the video when you scroll down to make your slides interactive Jeff Bachman brought this website to my attention.

Tip #2:

https://cospaces.io/edu/ This site is VR/AR site where students can present information using animated 3D looking characters.  The teacher can set up classes and see projects from their students.

Tip #3:

http://freerice.com/#/english-vocabulary/1426:  Vocabulary Practice to help donate rice to the World Food Programme:  1 right answer = 10 grains of rice, 5 right = 50 grains of rice. Students compete against people around the world to see who can donate the most rice. Even parents can play to help donate to those in need by signing up.  Thanks Kim Loseke for showing me this website!!
