Playing the first game of the day, on the cool morning, the Cyclones were ready to compete against Tekamah-Herman. Tied after the first two innings, Highway 91 won the third inning but couldn’t hold the lead. Tekamah-Herman ended up winning by two runs, 4-6.
After having a game off, they were ready to take on Madison/Humphrey/Lindsay. Highway 91 Cyclones defeated the Heat despite allowing a 4-run inning in the second.
“I think the Madison win really helped us get our attitudes back up to par. Despite the heat, we were having fun on the field and I think that really helped get our game back,” sophomore Rylee Olson commented.
With having won one game and lost one game, the Cyclones would play West Point Beemer for fifth or sixth place. After both teams were scoreless in the first and second innings, the Cadets score three runs in the third and five in the fourth. The final score was 0-8 in favor of the Cadets.
