JH Volleyball Battles Against Twin River and Howells-Dodge
On September 20, the A and B teams for Patriot junior high volleyball traveled to Genoa to put up their best fight against the Twin River Titans. Two weeks later on October 1, Howells-Dodge traveled to Clarkson to play the Patriots.
Both Patriot teams started out strong and were ready to play against the Titans. The A team was well prepared and won in two sets, the final score being 25-8 for the first set, and 25-10 for the second.
The B team came out strong with a good first set winning in a score of 25-21, but could not pull through with a win. The final score of the last two sets were 25-12 and 15-10
The Patriots had been preparing well for their big game against rivals Howells-Dodge. The A team put up a good fight against the Jaguars and won in three sets, the final scores being 9-25, 25-15, and 15-8.
The Patriot B team was ready to put up a rally against Howells- Dodge. They couldn’t quite get in a rhythm and fell short in two sets.
Kerstyn Held, 8th grader at Clarkson-Leigh said this about the Howells-Dodge game, “The Howells-Dodge game was good. We had a rough start at the beginning but finally got in our zone. Our serving percentage as a team was 87% and that was our highest this year. We really have been doing good and improving this year!”
She also had this to say about the season: “Our season this year has been amazing! Our serving has been awesome this and we have been getting our passes to the setter so we can get some awesome kills. Our positivity has been great as a team and that is what really in my opinion sets us higher than most teams.”
Congrats to the Patriot junior high volleyball teams for a great season!
