Cyclones Take Down the Slammers

The last home game for the season was sure one to remember. As well as getting the chance to beat a team on our home field, it was also Parents’ Night.

Before the varsity game started, all the parents of the Clarkson/Leigh-Howells/Dodge parents were announced.

After they were announced, the game was ready to get underway. The Cyclones were able to hold the Slammers through inning 1-4.

The defense and pitches this game were spot on. As the Cyclones were holding Polk County off, they were able to score 6 runs in the first 4 innings.

The score was 6-0 going into the 5th inning. Polk County was able to get 1 home in the 5th, but that didn’t stop us from scoring. We also scored 1 that inning.

Going into the 6th was a tough hit for the Cyclones. Polk County was able to score 5 runs on us. The score was 7-6 going into the bottom of the 6th inning.

The Cyclones knew they had to score a couple runs before going into the 7th and that is exactly what they did. They got 2 runs to end the 6th.

The Slammers had one last chance, but failed to score which resulted in another Cyclone victory.

The final score was 9-6.
