Natalie Brabec and Macy Clausen Named “Student of the Month”

For the month of September, two outstanding students in Leigh Community Schools were named “Student of the Month.” The recipients of this honor were Macy Clausen and Natalie Brabec.

Macy Clausen is the daughter of Heath and Michele Clausen of Leigh, and granddaughter of Kathy and Jr. Clausen of Norfolk and Larry Wietfeld of Leigh. She is a member of the junior high volleyball team, dance, and FCCLA. Her favorite subject is social studies because she likes to study the different states, countries, oceans, and continents.

Outside of school, Macy enjoys babysitting, scrapbooking, and hanging out with her friends and family. “Knowing that I’m being noticed makes me feel happy and joyful,” the seventh grader said.

Here’s what Macy’s teachers had to say about her:

”One of the nicest kids I have ever taught. Works hard in class, is kind to everyone around her and strives to be a leader in her group.”

“This student is kind, very helpful and doing a great job of adapting to life at the high school.”

Natalie Brabec was the other winner of this award. Natalie is a freshman this year.  She is the daughter of Dustin and Melissa Brabec of Leigh. Her grandparents are Gary and Charmayne Brabec of Leigh and Cal and Sue Fuhr of Leigh.

She is a part of volleyball, dance, FCCLA, choir, band, journalism, FBLA, student council, 4-H, and One-Act. Her favorite subject is also social studies because the different cultures are very fascinating.

Outside of school she loves to babysit and help her dad during harvest. The freshman said, “I am honored to get this award.”

Here’s what Natalie’s teachers had to say about her:

“Natalie is an amazing kid. Helpful, hard working and always pleasant. She is willing to help out everyone in her class and whatever organization or team she is involved in.”

“Natalie is a very hard-working and kind person. She is always willing to help out when needed, is very respectful to all staff and students, and goes the extra mile in whatever she is involved with.”

Congratulations to both Macy and Natalie on being the September Students of the Month!
