VB Defeats Pender in Final Regular Season Game
The Patriot volleyball team took on Pendragons in Pender on Monday, October 22. The JV and Varsity all left with wins.
In the first game the JV took the Pendragons in 2. Leigh Sophomore, Cassidy Hoffman, led the team with 4 kills.
Then the Varsity was next to play. They came up short in the first set and lost 23-25. The next game they came out stronger and swinging at the ball more and won 25-11. The next two following sets were both the same intensity as the second set and the Patriots came out on top in sets 3 and 4, 25-16 and 25-18.
Senior Hannah Kasik said "We started off slow, which definitely needs to change before sub-districts. It's just a matter of communicating from the start and coming out with lots of energy right away. We finished off strong and left with another victory, which always feels good.”
Assistant Coach Brianna Wietfield said “What a great way to end our regular season. Patriots come out with wins for JV and Varsity. JV should be proud of the way they ended their season. Both teams stayed focused and had fun playing.”
