FFA Participates in “Connecting Chapters”

Eight members of the Leigh-Clarkson FFA Chapter went to Lakeview High School for Connecting Chapters. Juniors Natalie Reeves, Sawyer Kappel, and Quintessence Indra, as well as sophomores Trevor Zulkoski, Riana Grotelueschen, Molly Langhorst, Lance Paprocki, and Lane Kudera learned about leadership and connecting with others.

Throughout the year, the FFA members need to take part in multiple activities to advocate agriculture with Farm Bureau. The FFA members will go to the elementary to read and donate a book to a class and also take part in leading an activity that teaches agriculture.

“Connecting Chapters” was a very good experience for our chapter. It gave us new ideas to get our chapter out there that we haven’t ever done before. It showed us how to connect and interact with elementary kids. Connecting chapters is a great way for our chapter to be involved” said junior Natalie Reeves.

“Connecting Chapters gave FFA members the tools needed to work with elementary students from both communities teaching them agricultural literacy.  It was great seeing our members interact with other chapters, and learn what it takes to be an advocate for agriculture” says Mrs. Brandy Held.
