Dance Team Earns 1st at Centura Competition
It has been a quite successful and busy year for the Clarkson Leigh Elite Dance Team. Fresh off the UNO competition, they recently competed in Cairo, Nebraska at the Centura Dance Competition on Sunday, January 13, 2019.
The Clarkson Leigh Elite Dance Team competed in Jazz and Hip-Hop, placing 1st in Hip-Hop and 3rd in Jazz. They also got some feedback on what to improve on before they head to Grand Island for state dance next month.
Head Coach Erika Rupprecht said, “Our elite dancers had the opportunity to perform their “scary” hip-hop dance one last time this past Sunday at the Centura competition before we bring it to State. They used this opportunity to the max and danced their hearts out! They left the competition receiving 1st place in Hip-Hop! The comments the judges gave are all things we can fix before heading to state on February 16!”
“It was really fun to go to the Centura Dance Competition and get great feedback before state,” sophomore Bethany Rupprecht said. “It was also really fun to perform a routine and wear a dance outfit that was so unique compared to everyone else’s.”
