JH Boys’ BBall Loses to Norfolk Catholic and St. Ed
In the last few weeks of the Junior High boys’ basketball season, the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots played Norfolk Catholic on January 24.
The A team lost 24-46. The leading scorer for the game was Kyle Kasik, eighth grader, with 9 points.
The B team lost 11-36. The leading scorer was Max Muhle, seventh grader, with 4 points.
Mr. Cash, assistant coach, said, “We just didn’t come out with the intensity in the game that we needed to compete with a team like Norfolk Catholic. The score definitely should have been a lot closer, but getting into foul trouble early into the game definitely hurt us.”
On January 28, the boys had another game in Leigh against St. Edward.
In this match-up, the A team lost 28-30. The leading scorer for that game was Mason Whitmore, eighth grader, with 10 points. B team lost 5-12, and the leading scorer was again Muhle, seventh grader, with 6 points.
Mason Whitmore, eighth grader, said “We tend to play either play up or down to our competition, and in this case, we played down, which hurt us.”
