Senior Spotlight: Meranda Kudrna

On April 30th, 2001, Kim and the late James Kudrna were blessed with their final bundle of joy, Meranda Lynn.

Meranda is the youngest of 3 girls, but one of the middle children in a step family of 6. Her biological sisters are Karlie, 24, and Sarah, 21. Meranda’s step family includes her step dad Greg, her stepsisters Kenzie, 19, and Maddie, 15, and her stepbrother Jordan, 13.

To join her large family at home, she has three dogs named Coco, Duke, and Mugzie.

Her grandparents are Don and Ann Kudrna of Leigh, Connie Nickel of St. Paul, and the late Robert Gleason of Leigh.

Throughout her high school career, Meranda has been very involved in her extracurriculars. She’s been in softball, choir, and One Act for 4 years; Dance and FFA for 3 years; Yearbook and Youth Advisory Council for 2 years; and Journalism and Basketball each for one year. She’s been on the Honor Roll, and along with her academic success, she has also been successful in her extracurricular activities too. She’s been a part of the state qualifying One-Act team for 4 years, and her softball accomplishments include All-Conference Team, All-Districts, and Lincoln Journal Star Honorable Mention, all this year.

To go along with her effervescent personality, Meranda has a wide array of favorite things. Some of her favorites include softball, camping, boating, Greys Anatomy, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Panda Express and meeting new people.

Meranda’s future plans consist of going to Central Community College, then transferring to Wayne State College to get her degree in elementary education. In 10-15 years, she sees herself starting a family and having a good job working at a school.

Congratulations, Meranda, and good luck in your future!
