Tech Tips

Technology is becoming a breeze for you!  Spring is around the corner:)!

Shout Outs

Mrs. Sayers and her Tech Apps class this week are figuring out how to fly the drones.  Then they are going to make a video for our school webpage to highlight businesses and community.  We downloaded an app to our phones called 360 flight and we can live stream to see on our cell phones what the drone is videoing.

Mrs. M. Hillen used Edpuzzle to clip a Youtube video to create quizzes, voice overs, etc. She created her video first on Screencastify to teach students about the parts of a sewing machine.  This site is really neat and user friendly. https://edpuzzle.com/home

Mr. Bachman’s 8th graders create iMovies for Historical Presidential Election Ads.

6th graders in Mrs. Brabec’s S.S. made a 1 min. commercial persuading people to come to Chichen Itza in Mexico.  They used iMovie, Powtoon, and StoryboardThat to present their commercials.

4th grade students in Tech Class created vocabulary cards using the PicCollage app.  They included pictures, stickers, animations, and videos representing their word.

5th graders in Tech Class became familiar with the Scratch website animating their poetry.  It was so fun to watch when they figured out a new skill on the program because then they were the expert and shared their findings with their peers.

6th graders used Sphero Balls to create a Delivery Service.  They used the Design Process to develop their creation.  Their goal was to deliver a note and piece of candy to a teacher.  Mission accomplished!

STEAM Shoutouts:

Mrs. Loseke’s 3rd grade class learned about economy and created an assembly line after researching Henry Ford.  They assembled a snack mix and even used shifts:)!

Mrs. Bruhn’s 1st grade class built bridges, yurts, and tree houses using the STEAM bins.  They needed to get their Gnome over to the village with a structurally sound bridge.

PreK-1st grade read the book What to Do with a Box and then decided what to do with a box.  They created castles, caves, surprise boxes, racecars, tanks, etc.
