Track Team Fares Well Despite Low Numbers
April 5th brought another opportunity for the Patriot Track team to compete against area teams. With many athletes absent to state FFA and FBLA, the track team was short on numbers. This did not stop them as they headed to David City to compete in the Aquinas track meet.
Fourteen athletes placed in the top eight. Medalists are as follows:
Long Jump: Kennedy Settje - 4th,
Triple Jump: Kennedy Settje - 5th, Kim Stodola - 6th, Kayden Shoemaker - 7th,

Shot Put: Brittney Urbanek- 4th
100 Dash: McKenna Stodola - 2nd
Cassie Brabec - 8th,
200: McKenna Stodola - 7th,
400: Haley Bovee - 6th,
800: Faith Indra - 4th,
1 Mile: Faith Indra - 8th,
4x1: Maddie Pelan, Cassie Brabec, McKenna Stodola, Kayden Shoemaker - 3rd, 4x4: Maddie Pelan, Cassie Brabec, Faith Indra, McKenna Stodola - 3rd.
Sophomore Madisyn Pelan had fun at the meet.
“I thought for our low numbers, we all went out and competed well and brought home a lot of medals,” she said.
Assistant coach Mr. Bachman was pleased with the results. “We were short-handed that day, with so many kids gone to State FFA & FBLA. With the group we had they competed very well and we saw some good marks made.”
