Girls Track Team Earns Third Place at Conference Meet

The high school track team traveled to Tekamah for the second time on Monday, April 29, since the original date on Saturday was postponed due to weather.

The girls track team had high hopes to place high at Conference Track.

“Even though the track meet started off as a cold Saturday, I think our team competed very well against our formidable conference opponents. I know everyone tried their best, and I know I had a blast in the process. I love that I can honestly look back and say that our 2019 track season was fun, competitive, and bettering. I’m thankful I’ve been given these opportunities,”sophomore Emily Loseke said.

The entire team certainly did well as the girls placed 3rd overall with a total of 70 points.

Head coach, Mr. Schneider, said, "Conference track was interesting this year as we had the postpone the original date to Monday.  Even with the poor weather conditions on Saturday and high winds on Monday, the kids went out and competed extremely well.  Every meet this year, the team has competed and strived to improve on their events.  The girls 400 relay continues to improve and has put themselves in a good spot heading into districts."
