JV Softball Picks up Two Wins at Wisner Tournament

Strike three, batter’s out! The Highway 91 Cyclones have had a busy start to their season this year. On Tuesday, September 17, the JV Cyclones had a chance to showcase their skills as traveled to Wisner for a tournament.

There were four teams at the tournament, including Northeast Nebraska (NEN), North Bend, O’Neill, and Highway 91.

Starting the tournament off well, the Cyclones won against O’Neill with a close score of 6-5. The Cyclones then played NEN and lost 9-16. The team played great even though they did not win.

The Cyclones ended the night with a win against North Bend. The score was 14-11. Highway 91 played tremendous throughout the whole game and never settled for less.

Senior Hannah Dronsett said, “It was very fun. There haven’t been very many JV games yet, so it was fun to finally play. Everybody played well.”

The Highway 91 Cyclones junior varsity team still has a few more games left. The Cyclones hope to do their best throughout the rest of the season and finish it off strong. Go Cyclones!
