Patriot Volleyball Ends Regular Season

The Patriot volleyball team had their last home game of the season on Tuesday, October 22. This game was also the last regular season game. In a well-fought match, the Patriots fell to the Oakland-Craig Knights in three sets.

The Lady Pats started off strong against the Knights and led most of the first set, but ended up falling short, 22-25. The Knights carried their momentum from the first set to the second and took the set 25-16.

The third set was extremely intense. Clarkson-Leigh started slow, but made a comeback by the end. They battled point for point, but Oakland-Craig came out on top once again with a high score of 33-31.

“This game didn't end the way we wanted to, but it showed us a lot about how we can play. We can play with any team if we play like we want the win,” said senior, Reagan Settje. “As we ended our regular season play, I can't wait to start the new season. We have a clean slate going into next week."

Kennedy Settje led the team in kills with 10, and Kayden Schumacher had the most digs with 17.

“Even though we ended the regular season with a loss, it was a loss we can accept and use as motivation going into the postseason.  We were really pleased with how well the girls performed especially in that 3rd set and not wanting to give up,” said head coach, Becky Schneider. “It's not the first time we have pushed points past 25, but we've got to be able to finish those last one or two points and take that set. Overall, we just need to continue to give that much effort and more, and play with that kind of drive, and see what happens!  That's the kind of team chemistry we've been striving for all season and it's something we need to take into subs.”
