Softball Plays Jamboree Game in Leigh

Let it begin! The Highway 91 Cyclones (Clarkson, Leigh, Howells-Dodge) kicked off their year with a jamboree game on Monday, August 19 at the Leigh home field against David City Aquinas.

Even though they didn’t win the game, they gained valuable experience for the upcoming season.

Junior Rylee Olson says, “For the first time having a jamboree game, it went well. It gave everyone an opportunity to play and gain experience. It also gave the team a visual on what we need to work on before we continue the season with bigger games. Overall, I was proud of how we all played together, and I’m looking forward to continuing our season.”

“Overall we have a young, athletic team with 2 returning Seniors.  With a young pitching staff if we can stay healthy and survive the first 12 games in the opening 10 days, we could give ourselves an opportunity to finish strong,” says head coach Adam Indra.

This year’s team consists of 19 girls from Leigh, Clarkson, and Howells-Dodge.

Seniors include Payje Rayback, Natalie Reeves, Hannah Dronsett, and Emilie Kitdal

The juniors consist of Kyleigh Rayback, Riana Grotelueschen, Rylee Olson, and Alicia Vodehnal.

The sophomores are Faith Indra, Haley Bovee, Abbey  Pieper, Jaedyn Ratzlaff, Kaydence Cech, Kennady Schmidt, Lilly Praest, Sasha Perrin, and Shelby Risch.

Rounding out the team are freshmen Sophie Dvorak and Nessa Krupka.

This year’s team is coached by Adam Indra and assisted by Jenica Dietrich and Scott Polacek.
