Junior High Volleyball Team Has Successful Week

Serve Strong. Dig Fiercely. Spike Hard. It was the second JH volleyball game of the 2019 season on September 10 in Clarkson when the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots defeated Cedar Bluffs.

“I thought we played good. Very aggressive and energetic. And we got a win.” said Chloe Hanel, eighth-grader.

The JH coach, Mr. Seth Cash, said, “The girls played well, but no matter the talent of the opposing team, we can always find things to improve upon. We are always striving to become better individual players and better as a team.”

In their next game on September 12 the Patriots easily defeated the Warriors at an away game in Schuyler, with the A team winning 25-6 in the first set and 25-16 in the second set.

“We won in two set pretty easily, and we worked hard and it helped us out in the end,” eighth-grader Tanyn Larson said.

Coach Kim Heimann had this to say:

“We lost the ‘C’ game by the scores of 12-25 and 21-25. I was pleased with their play. They set up the ball and attacked it. The ‘B’ team won both of their sets, and Gracie had 7 aces. The first set we played with them and then the second set we took control. The ‘A’ team also won 25-6 and 25-16. The ‘A’ team had 10 aces as a team. All the teams are improving and they are fun to watch.”
