Fifth-Grade Band Students Attend “Instrument Night”

Fifth grade students interested in being Patriot band members had an exciting night on Tuesday, September 10. The students had the chance to try different instruments to see what they wanted to play to begin their band careers, and ultimately, pick out an instrument to rent or purchase.

"I am so excited to be able to learn the clarinet, but I think it will be a challenge to get all of the notes played." said fifth-grader Reann Bruhn.

Band teacher Ms. Liz Kowalski said this is a fun night for fifth graders.

"It went very well!” Kowalski said. “A lot of parents and fifth grade students showed up to listen to Chad Barnhill from Midwest Music talk about his “Rent to Own” program.  All the kids were able to take home an instrument that night with smiles and excitement on their faces.  I am very excited to see what this year has to hold with this fifth-grade group!”
