Girls Golf 2019 Season Comes to a Close

The Clarkson-Leigh girls’ golf team recently concluded their season with their final two meets of the year at the Oakland Golf Club on October 5th and October 8.

They first competed at the Oakland-Craig Invite.  At this meet, Mady Janousek scored 132; Ashly Guillen, 138; Cortlynn Cadwallader, 153; Ashlynn Cropp, 166; and Hazel Mundt, 151.

The next meet, just days later, was their final district meet to determine which teams qualify for state.  At this meet, they competed against against Archbishop Bergan, Arlington, Boone Central, Cedar Bluffs, Clarkson-Leigh, Columbus Scotus, Fullerton, Oakland-Craig, Omaha Brownell-Talbot, Omaha Concordia, Omaha Roncalli, Wahoo, and West Point-Beemer.

Ashly Guillen, a freshman from Clarkson, scored a 141, earning her 41st place. This was the best score out of all of the Patriot girls.

In addition to Guillen, Mady Janousek scored 161, Cortlynn Cadwallader scored 160, Ashlynn Crop finished with 168, and Hazel Mundt shot 164.

“I think that this season was a really great experience for all of us,” Cadwallader said.  “We all started out so inexperienced. We really did learn along the way and had a lot of fun too. I think that at the district golf meet we all tried our best. Some of us scored our all-time lows, others were really close. Either way, we all had a lot of fun, even if afterwards we were all exhausted. It was totally worth it.”

Congratulations on the season girls!
