JH GBB “Red” Team Holds On to Undefeated Record!

The junior high girls’ basketball team took on their 3rd opponent of the season after winning 1st place in their Humphrey-Lindsay tournament. On December 2nd, the Clarkson-Leigh Patriots took on the Shelby-Rising City Huskies at Shelby.

The first game of the night was played by the JH red team. They battled every quarter and did the little things right. They executed their plays well and came out on top with a final score of 36-12.

The leading scorer was Chloe Hanel with 26 points.

Assistant coach Melissa Brabec said, “Our energy improved as we entered the second half. We became must more aggressive and took better control of the basketball. They played very well as a team.”

The junior high blue team played right after. They played hard on both defense and offense to get the job done. The final score was 29-7.

The leading scorer was Baylee Settje with 10 points.

After a great game against Shelby, they had a quick turnaround. They traveled to Wayne to take on the Blue Devils on December 5th.

The junior high blue team took the court first. They tried their hardest to bring home a win, but they came short. The final score was 21-26.

After losing the first game of the night, the Patriots didn’t want to come home with another. The junior high red team came out fired up and brought energy from the start. They ended up winning the game with a score of 46-10.

Baylee Settje said, “Even though the JH blue team lost, we played really well and tried our best to win. After the blue team game was over, the red team started and we started out really well and came out with a win.”
