Jr/Sr. High Christmas Concert a Success
With the Christmas season in full swing, it was only appropriate that the Clarkson-Leigh Band and Choir help everyone get into the Christmas spirit with a lovely Christmas Concert hosted in Clarkson on December 19.
Abbi Brabec, a senior involved in both choir and band, believed the concert was a success as always. “I think the concert went really smoothly and all the groups performed well,” she said. “It really spread the holiday spirit!”
The concert opened with the Junior High Band playing “Holiday Bells, Ukranian Bell Carol” and “Mary, Did You Know.”
This was followed by the Senior High Choir singing “Calypso Christmas”, “A Holly Jolly Christmas”, and “Sleep Little King” with Clarkson sophomore flutist Hailey Bovee accompanying the singers.
Next, the girl’s small group ensemble sang “Peaceful Silent Night.” This was the same song they performed at the Christmas festival in Leigh on December 14.
The senior high band continued the concert with “Do You Hear What I Hear?” and “Angels in the Bleak Midwinter.”
Finally, the junior high choir concluded the night with their performance of “A Special Night,” “Ho! Ho! Holidays” and “Calypso Christmas Song.”
The choir was led by director Cindy Settje. The band was led by directors Deb Faltys and Liz Kowalski.
