FCCLA Hosts Red Cross December Blood Drive

Another successful Red Cross blood drive was hosted by the Leigh-Clarkson FCCLA chapter on December 11th at the high school gym in Leigh. The appointments started at 12 o’clock and lasted until 6 that evening.

Advisor, Megan Hillen said, “We had a great turn out for our December blood drive. Thank you to all the donors that took the time out of their day to save lives.”

The whole blood donors were: Maureen Machacek, Darrell Bahns, Mary Cerny, Anson Korte, Rhonda Jedlicka, Mary Ann McMullin, Roger Bruhn, Pam Hamernik, JoAnn Settje, Pete Reichmuth, Dave Hollatz, Mary Stodola, Glen Hake, Roxie Drees, Dan Schmidt, Janet Pinkley, Mark Hoessel, Don Hoessel, Jessica Brabec, Brandy Balzer, Adam Cerv, Lynn Olmer, Roger Fuhr, Sharon Schroeder, Nancy Scheffler, Joseph Ruzek, Brody Boyd, Carolyn Olson, Rylee Olson, Natalie Reeves, Kim Loseke, Payje Rayback, Taylor Larson, and Larry Cerny.

The power red donors were Tim Wietfeld, Troy Holmberg, Robin Pokorney, Lisa Powell, Doug Pinkley, Patti Holmberg, Sheryl Johnson, Nancy Mohnsen, Mark Kabes, and Cara Ahrens-Emerson.

The only first-time donor for this blood drive was Kyleigh Rayback.

"It was fun to learn more about what the blood you give really goes to,” Rayback said. “It was not as painful as I thought it was going to be and the Red Cross staff really coax you through the whole thing. I'll definitely be giving blood as often as I can."

Remember to mark your calendars for the next blood drive on March 17th at the Leigh High School!
