Payje Rayback and Brianne Kuhr Named “Students of the Month”

Another month means another chance for students to show their success in and out of the classroom. The two recipients for “Student of the Month” for February were Brianne Kuhr and Payje Rayback.

Brianne Kuhr is the daughter of Russ and Beth Kuhr and granddaughter of Norene and Dennis Kuhr, and Alice and Urban Imholte.

Brianne participates in volleyball, basketball, and track. Her favorite subjects are social studies and P.E. In her free time she enjoys ice-fishing, playing cards, and spending time with her friends and family. This is Brianne’s first time receiving this award.

When asked how it felt to win this award, she said, “I am really happy that the teachers voted me for this award because it is my first time winning it.”

Here is what Brianne’s teachers had to say about her:

“Brianne is an awesome student who always tries her best in all her classes.  She listens intently, asks great questions, and has a great sense of humor. She is a great writer whose personality shines through in her writing.”

“When needed, Brianne asks questions. She challenges herself. Her answers are complete and to the point. She scores well on tests. She is well behaved.”

“Brianne lives up to the family name in academic success and great work ethic. She strives to be the best in everything she does.”

Payje Rayback was the other recipient of this award. She is the daughter of Tony and Tiffany Rayback.

Payje is involved in softball, FCCLA, One-Act, Yearbook, and YAC. Her favorite subject is FCS. Payje enjoys taking pictures in her spare time.

After graduating high school this year, she plans on attending Wayne State College to become a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher. Payje has won this award four times throughout her high school career.

The senior said, “It's a great feeling to hear what some teachers said about me. Winning this award means that I am helping others while maintaining good grades. It's nice to see that my hard work doesn't go unnoticed.”

Here is what Payje’s teachers had to say about her:

“Payje is a very kind, hard-working student. She is great to have around the school, and is always willing to lend a helping hand.”

“Payje is really a role model to younger students.  She works so hard in all she does, and she is kind to everyone in school.  She comes to school every day with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.

“Payje has been working so hard on her scholarships and I appreciate her work ethic and think she deserves recognition for it. She always turns in quality work in Accounting and if she happens to miss points, she puts in the effort to redo her assignment for a better grade. I can always count on her to help other students with their homework or questions once she's completed her own. I also think she has been very welcoming to Hannah since she moved here from Norway. Payje has included her in several things and built a genuine friendship. It's not easy to move here and know no one but it makes it a lot easier if you have a welcoming friend like Payje!”

Congratulations to Brianne and Payje for being named February Students of the Month!
