JH Boys Basketball Defeats Howells-Dodge, Loses to Scotus

As the junior high boys’ basketball season begins, all athletes work to improve their skills, win, and have fun. This year, the Patriot team has around 20 kids, and their opening games have been very competitive.

On January 23rd both boys’ teams fell to Scotus with a final score of 23-49 for A team, and the B team ended at 5-15.  The leading scorer for A team was Korbin Lemburg with 8 points, and the leading scorer for B team was Jacob Koehn with 3 points.

Next, on January 27, the Patriots played their third game of the season and split Howells-Dodge with a win and a loss. The A team’s winning score was 38-33, and Dylan Higby led the team with 9 points. The B team lost 30-12 and the leading scorer was Zach Gall with 4 points.

Coach Seth Cash said, “Howells “A” game was a really fun one to watch.  We took the lead early and never gave it back.  We got up at much as 15 points early on, but H-D battled back and made it a close one that came down to the final seconds. The “B” struggled to make shots and ended losing. It was great to see Zach Gall add to his season point total. He ended the game as the “B” team leading scorer with 4 points."
