Senior Spotlight: Payje Rayback

If you ever get the chance to meet Payje, you will know that she is just like a sunflower: tall, vibrant, and beautiful.

Payje Lynn Rayback was born November 1, 2001, at the Columbus Hospital to Tony and Tiffany Rayback.  She has three sisters: Kyleigh, age 16; Cassi, age 14; Mattie, age 10; and a brother, Brinx, age 2.

Payje’s grandparents are Greg Rayback and the late Cheryl Rayback of Arizona, and Mark Schilling and the late Colette Schilling of Columbus.

She participates in many school activities, including FCCLA for 5 years, Youth Advisory Committee for 3 years, journalism for 1 year, yearbook for 3 years, softball for 4 years, dance for 2 years, and bowling for 3 years.

To get to know this senior better, if she could describe herself in three words, she would use “committed”, “hard-working”, and “fun”.

Payje has many favorite things. Her favorite subject is FCS classes. Her favorite song is any song but any songs by Billie Eilish. Her favorite movie/or TV show is Criminal Minds. Her most embarrassing moment was after rounding third base, she tripped over nothing and fell running to home plate.

Payje has had many accomplishments in her four years of high school.  She has made the honor roll all four years of high school, and she was named Student of the Month all four years of high school.  But academics aren’t the only thing Payje excels in. She is also a stud on the softball team. She has been named Defensive Player of the Year twice, team MVP, Super Senior in the Telegram, and 4-year Golden Glove winner. Additionally, she was named Homecoming Queen this past fall.

Out of all of these accomplishments, Payje says she is most proud of figuring out what she wants to do when she goes off to college.

As anyone can see.  Payje has a great future planned ahead. She plans on attending Wayne State College to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science Education.

In 10-15 years Payje sees herself teaching at a high school and getting married and having kids.

Payje’s advice to underclassmen is “Time flies when you are in high school, so take a lot of pictures and make great memories.”

Congratulations on all of your achievements, Payje, and best of luck in the future!
