Senior Spotlight: Hannah Dronsett

April 18, 2002, was a blessing for Gro Elisabeth and Henrik Dronsett. It was the day that they welcomed their first daughter, Hannah Elisabeth Dronsett, into the world.

Hannah’s family consists of herself, her parents, and her one younger brother, Andreas, who’s 14.

Hannah is a foreign exchange student from Norway. Her host parents are Ryan and Kristin Mullenhoff.

If you knew Hannah, three words that best describe her are open-minded, friendly, and caring.

Hannah has been very excited to get involved in the athletics and extracurriculars at Leigh. This year she has participated in softball, basketball, One-Act, and track.

During her short year here, Hannah earned the honors of Student of the Month and A-B Honor Roll.

Although Hannah had applied to be a Student Ambassador for the exchange program and stay in Leigh into the summer, her time here was abruptly cut short when she had to return home in March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Her future plans include going back to Norway to finish high school, and then later studying to become a teacher. When asked where she sees herself in 10-15 years, she said working as a teacher, getting married, and starting a family.

Outside of school, Hannah enjoys hanging out with friends and playing sports.

Hannah enjoys many different things. Her favorite subjects are government and culinary arts, her favorite TV shows are Stranger Things and The Fosters, her favorite sports team is the Norwegian Handball Team, her favorite food is sushi, and her favorite restaurant in the U.S. is Perkins.

Hannah’s biggest pet peeves are people that chew loud or people who walk slow.

Hannah’s favorite high school memory is cheering for the softball team during softball season and the football games!

Hannah’s bucket list consists of traveling a lot, going snowboarding in the Alps, and owning her own house.

She also says she would like to travel to Seattle because she’s always wanted to go there.

When asked who Hannah admires most in life, she said “her parents” because they are supportive of her no matter what.

Before leaving Leigh, Hannah left underclassmen with this bit of advice: “Have fun while it lasts, because one day you’re going to stand there wondering where time went.”

Best of luck in your future, Hannah! Leigh, Nebraska misses you!
