Senior Spotlight: Taylor Larson

On June 8th, 2002, in Norfolk, Nebraska, Bob and Kelsey Larson were blessed with their oldest daughter, Taylor LeAnn Larson.

Taylor has three younger siblings: Tanyn, age 14; Tyce age 10; and Taytum, age 6. Taylor’s grandparents are Rick and Lorie Larson of Creston and Bill and Georgia Klassen of Lindsay. Of course, the family wouldn’t be complete without their Golden Retriever, Taz, the family’s three fainting goats, and many cats.

Throughout high school, Taylor has been highly involved in many activities.  She has participated in FCCLA for six years; volleyball and One-Act for four years; yearbook, journalism, and choir for three years; and track, basketball, dance, band, and FBLA for two years.  She is also a member of Zion Lutheran Church as well as the Leigh Youth Advisory Committee.

With these activities has come many honors. She has been named Student of the Month twice, she has been an FCCLA State Qualifier, and she is currently FCCLA Chapter Vice President.

Taylor’s favorite subject in school is FCS, specifically Child Development/Parenting.  Outside of school, Taylor enjoys hanging out with her friends.  Her favorite movie is The Call.

Taylor’s biggest pet peeve is when people chew with their mouth open.  She says her own worst habit is biting her nails.

After graduation, Taylor plans to attend Northeast Community College and earn a Business Degree.

In 10-15 years, Taylor sees herself owning her own clothing boutique and starting a family. Three goals on Taylor’s bucket list are building her own house, starting a family, and travelling. If she could travel anywhere in the world, she would want to go to the Philippines for their beautiful beaches.

So many people have molded and shaped Taylor into the person she is today, but she says if there is one person in her life she admires the most and hopes to emulate, it is her grandma because “she is always positive and is always willing to help anyone no matter the situation.”

Taylor says her advice to underclassmen is “Live in the moment.”

We wish Taylor the best of luck with her future endeavors!
