JH VB Wins Both Opening Games

Work hard and things will go your way.
This is what the junior high volleyball coaches preached to their team in the first games of the season.
The Clarkson-Leigh JH volleyball girls grabbed their first season win on September 1 against Wisner-Pilger. On September 8 they also beat the Madison Dragons.
“The game against Wisner-Pilger was a nice chance for the incoming seventh graders and first-time players to get their feet wet,” coach Seth Cash said. “It was also a good game for the eighth graders to get some confidence moving forward with the season.
“The game against Madison was a great chance for the girls to work on those things that needed improvement from the Wisner game. We swept Madison in C/B/A team games. We are always looking at areas where we can improve as individuals and a team,” Cash continued.
Seventh-grader Karly Wendt was excited about her first games of the season.
“We played well but not to our best potential,” Wendt said. “I am excited for the rest of the season.”
