By: Natalie Brabec, a junior at Leigh High School
The Cyclones clinched two wins on Monday, September 21, against North Bend and on Tuesday, September 22, against David City Aquinas.
The Cyclones played North Bend in Dodge on Monday with a score of 7-4, marking their 100th win as a program.
In a high-scoring game, they then defeated Aquinas 16-9 the following night. The Cyclones started with a three-run lead in the first inning, which gave them a good advantage. In the fourth inning the score was 5-3 Cyclones. In the fifth inning David City scored 5 runs, but the Cyclones answered right back, scoring eight runs in the sixth inning.
Freshman Cassi Rayback played in the David City Game and said, “We all worked well together to help each person to succeed which brought us to the win.”
Senior Rylee Olson said, “Monday’s night win against North Bend Central and Tuesday against David City Aquinas were good games going into our conference tournament. The games weren’t easy, and we saw some faults in the team, but battled and got the dub!”
Congratulations Cyclones on your 100th Program Win!
