Seniors Hoffman and Rayback Named November Students of the Month

By: Emily Loseke, a senior at Leigh High School

Seniors are considered the leaders and role models for the younger classmen, and this is certainly true for Cassidy Hoffman and Kyleigh Rayback. These outstanding seniors were recognized as the November Students of the Month.

Cassidy Hoffman is the daughter of Kelli and Ryan Hoffman, the granddaughter of Roger and Karen Bruhn of Leigh, and the granddaughter of Bonnie and Terry Hoffman of Wakefield.

Cassidy’s involved in FCCLA, FBLA, basketball, volleyball, journalism, yearbook, one-act, Youth Advisory Committee, National Honor Society, and quiz bowl.

Her favorite class is Culinary Arts, and she enjoys hanging out with friends, family, and her four cats. After graduation, Cassidy plans on attending UNL and majoring in Accounting. She then wants to become a CPA.

Cassidy said, “I feel so honored to receive this award because it shows that all the hard work I’ve put in over the past six years hasn’t been for nothing. People have been noticing all the hard work I put into school and my extracurricular activities.”

This is what Cassidy’s teachers had to say:

“Cassidy is an extremely hard worker, helpful in class, and achieves in her extracurriculars.”

“Cassidy is a high achiever and truly puts her best effort into everything she does. She’s a great representative of our school and community and is truly one of our leaders in everything she does.”

“Cassidy is such a well-rounded individual.  She achieved a very high ACT score, she excels in sports as well as the One-Act Play, and she holds leadership positions in both FCCLA and YAC, showing her passion for giving back to others. In addition, she is just kind and positive all the time.  We couldn’t ask for a better ambassador of our school.

Kyleigh Rayback is the daughter of Tony and Tiffany Rayback.

She’s involved in FCCLA, softball, and one-act. Her favorite class is weights, and she enjoys hanging out with friends.

While Kyleigh’s exact future plans after graduation are uncertain, she plans on attending college.

This is what Kyleigh’s teachers had to say:

“Kyleigh is an outstanding student in class; she is driven and hardworking, always completing everything asked of her and never complains.”

“Kyleigh has grown a great deal over the years and has matured and developed into an excellent student.”

“Kyleigh’s growth in maturity and work ethic over the years is truly impressive.  She has blossomed into a leader in our school in both her extracurriculars and academics.
