JH GBB Faces Aquinas and Wayne

The junior high girls’ basketball team started off the month of December with games against two solid competitors: David City Aquinas on November 30 and Wayne on December 3.
Mr. Murren said, "It was good for the girls to get back on the court after an extended Thanksgiving Break. Against Aquinas, it took us a little while to get adapted back to game speed and playing, but we did some good things throughout the night. The 8th grade team was able to pull off a thrilling overtime win and they were able to show a lot of mental toughness in getting this done. They closed the night on a strong note."
Baylee Settje, a Leigh 8th grader, said “For the Aquinas game we started out pretty good and we finished strong in overtime. For the Wayne game, we came out strong because we played them before and lost by 4 last time. So this time we really wanted a win. We started out really strong and ended really strong and got the victory.”
