Despite COVID-19 and all of the uncertainties in the year of 2020, preschool and elementary students spread holiday cheer through their annual Christmas concert on Monday, December 7 at the new Leigh High School gym.
The preschool classes sang four songs taught by Mrs. Tiffany Cash, and the elementary classes sang 21 songs directed by Mrs. Cindy Settje. In addition, the 5th and 6th grade band performed two songs directed by Mrs. Liz Kowalski.
Music director Mrs. Cindy Settje said, “We learned a lot of new songs this year, which added to the excitement. I really appreciate all the enthusiasm that the Elementary students bring to music class. They seem to love music class and have been having a lot fun this semester singing, learning new things, and watching some funny music clips.”
The Leigh Stream Team recorded the concert, which had 42 viewers at one time, and there were many household members in attendance as well.
Settje said, “This was the first time that we held a concert in the new gym, so there were a few kinks to work out, like using the sound system for the recordings. With everyone’s help, it went pretty smoothly. The students loved performing on the new stage.”
