Retirement Party Held at Leigh Schools
By: Leigh High School Journalism Staff
On Friday, May 7, a retirement party was held from 5-7 pm in the elementary gym for three familiar faces at Leigh Community Schools: Superintendent Stephanie Petersen, guidance counselor Karen Hillen, and custodian Laure Osten.
The K-12 students also celebrated them earlier that day with a short program with cupcakes, singing, and trivia.
Petersen led the district as superintendent for four years; Hillen served the district for 44 years as FCS (Home-Ec) teacher and FCCLA sponsor, then sixth grade teacher, and finally guidance counselor; and Osten served the district as custodian for 25 years.
Leigh Community Schools wishes to thank them for their years of service and wish them congratulations and a happy retirement!
