Patriot Girls Earn Third at Conference Track!

Boys’ and Girls’ Teams Both Take Home Gold in Multiple Events

On Saturday, May 1, the high school track team competed in the East Husker Conference Track Meet in Lyons.

In a field of tough competition, the girls’ team triumphantly took home third place out of 13 teams! 

Freshman Chloe Hanel took home individual gold in the high jump, and placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles and 3rd in 100 Hurdles.  Senior Emily Loseke captured gold in the 100 and 200M Dash, and Tanyn Larson placed third in both those events!  The 4x100M Relay team of Hanel, Loseke, Larson, and McKenna Stodola also finished first! 

North Bend Central girls’ captured the conference title, and Wisner-Pilger girls were runner-up.

“We competed at an excellent level against really great competition at Conference,” Loseke said. “I’m so proud of our accomplishments this season, and I’m extremely thankful for everyone’s support!”

The boys this meet took home 8th place out of 13. West Point Beemer, Twin River, and Oakland-Craig led the conference as the top three teams on the boys’ side.

Top accomplishments for the boys include junior Eli Hays winning the Triple Jump with a jump of 40’6.25” and Carter Hanel winning the discuss with a throw of 147.03.  Hanel also placed third in the Long Jump, and Lane Kudera placed 4th.
