Cyclones Capture Gold at Viper Tourney!

By: Deandrea Rivera, a junior at Leigh High School

This softball season, Highway 81 Cyclones have been busy for the beginning of the season. They traveled to Wisner for the NEN Viper Tournament on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Even if the girls were tired, they kept on pushing through and came home with all three wins, capturing first place!

Right away in the morning, they played O'Neill, taking the win with a score of 7-0.

Later that day, the Cyclones played against Blue River, not losing their motivation. With the score being 14-1 the Cyclones had won the game.

They finished off the day with getting another win against Logan View/ Scribner-Snyder. The ending score was 4-7.

Junior Sydney Reeves said, "Overall, we played very well all day long. It was a long tournament and we stuck with it until the end earning first place. It was a great experience for our team."

This brings the Cyclone record to 7-3!
