The Clarkson-Leigh Patriots hosted the Madison Dragons for a Week 6 Homecoming game matchup on October 1, 2021.

The Patriots wasted no time putting up 32 unanswered points on Madison in the 1st quarter. Eli Hays scored first for the Patriots when he ran in a 23-yd rushing touchdown. Carter Hanel ran in the two-point conversion giving the Patriots an early lead. Kyle Kasik reached the end zone next off a 19-yd rushing touchdown. Again, Hanel put in the two-point conversion. Kasik rushed for another 12-yd rushing touchdown in the first quarter and Hays threw to Carter Hanel for the two point conversion. Carter Hanel also caught a 20-yd touchdown pass from Eli Hays. Kanyon Held ran in the two-point conversion afterwards.

In the second quarter, Kanyon Held scored first for the Patriots off a 15 yd run. Kasik ran in the two-point conversion afterwards. Isaac Baumert scored next on a 7-yd rushing touchdown. Ryan Brichacek ran in the two-point conversion. The Dragons scored next off a 55-yd rushing touchdown. They failed to put in the two-point conversion. Baumert scored again at the end of the 2nd quarter and Dalton Zulkoski caught a two-point conversion pass to put the Patriots up 56-6 going into halftime.

Coming out of the half, Jase Indra was the only one to score in the third quarter. He scored on a three-yard rushing touchdown and Baumart ran in the two point conversion.

Madison reached the end zone one more time in the 4th quarter on a 19-yd rushing touchdown. The two-point conversion was unsuccessful. Trey Steffensmeier also scored for the Patriots in the 4th when he ran in a 9-yd rushing touchdown. The Patriots were unsuccessful on the two-point conversion making the final score 70-12.

When asked about the game, Assistant Coach Eric Hays said, “It was a great night to be a Patriot. It is fun to get a team win, and have that much team participation, in front of a large homecoming crowd. I really believe that the defense set the tone early for the game. It is beneficial to have a victory like this to gain momentum into the playoffs.”

Junior Mason Whitmore said, “We played a good physical game. We knew that we had to come in and take care of business, and that's what we did to get our JV guys extra reps.”

This win puts the Patriot record at 4-2.
