JV Football Finishes 4-2

By: Jared Olson, a freshman at Leigh High School

The Clarkson-Leigh Patriots JV football team’s season has come to an end after a 4-2 run.

JV Coach Jeff Bachman said, “This year was a fun year of growth. We got to see contributions from a lot of players. It was fun to see the young guys develop. I am looking forward to seeing how far they will grow as football players in the future.”

The Patriots’ four wins came against East Butler (54-0), Shelby-Rising City (28-26, 2OT), Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (38-20), and Lutheran High (36-0).

Their two losses came at the hands of Stanton (16-28) and Howells-Dodge (32-28 3OT).

Leigh sophomore Jordan Noonan said, “I was very happy to see how far our team came this year, and I'm excited to see where we can go from here in the next couple of years.”

Another Leigh sophomore, James Grotelueschen, said, “It was a fun year with the team and we were pretty successful this year, only losing to Stanton and Howells-Dodge.

“In those games we did not give up and played hard through the entire game, going into triple overtime with HD. We did not give up any huge leads. We all improved as a team and had a ton of fun.”
