Scouts Hand Patriot Girls Second Loss

In a girls’-only JV and Varsity away game on December 14, the girls’ basketball team took a loss against a very solid David City team.
The currently undefeated C1 Scouts were too much for the varsity Patriots to handle, even though the Pats hung in there and gave them a run.
The Patriots took 4-point lead in the first quarter and held onto that lead into halftime, 18-14.
But after halftime, the Scouts outscored the Patriots by 5 points in the third and 3 points in the fourth to edge out the win with a final score of 38-43.
Assistant Coach Jennifer Remmereid said “David City played a tough zone defense and had some shots fall in the second half of the game. This is a game we will learn from and we'll continue to get better.”
Senior Makenna Held, who set up her teammates with 4 assists throughout the game, said, “The David City game was definitely a step back from the games we had been playing prior. We didn't show up like we needed to, and I think we really lacked energy. We are using this game as a great learning lesson to better ourselves for the future!”
