Wrestlers Compete at “Green Machine” Tournament
By: Sydney Reeves, a junior at Leigh High School
The Patriot wrestling team headed to Wisner on Saturday, December 18th to compete in the Wisner-Pilger “Green Machine” Tournament. The Patriot wrestlers had recently had a quad in Logan View before the tournament.
The Clarkson-Leigh wrestlers had a very successful day at the Wisner-Pilger tournament. There were 12 other teams at this tournament that they faced. The Patriots finished in fourth place, while Winside won the tournament.
Four wrestlers made it to the finals at this tournament. Freshman, Jacob Koehn and sophomore, Jaden Stoklasa, both placed 2nd. Sophomore Dylan Higby and junior Jackson Koehn won their brackets.
Head Coach Tyler Reeves said, “We had a solid day with two champs and two runner-ups. I was happy for Jackson to win his first tournament. He has wrestled hard and keeps improving all around. I was proud of a fourth-place finish despite being short of a few guys. Overall, it was a good way to lead into the break.”
Congratulations to the Patriot Wrestling Team!
