Natalie Brabec and Izzy Hollatz Named “Students of the Month”

So far this year, there have been many deserving students for Student of the Month.

This month the two deserving recipients for the award were Natalie Brabec and Izzy Hollatz. 

Both of these students are no stranger to winning the award, both of them having earned it multiple times over the years. 

The first Student of the Month is freshman Izzy Hollatz. 

Izzy’s parents are Willie and Kylie Hollatz. Her grandparents are Dave and Joan Hollatz of Creston and Jim and Lanette Bathen of David City. 

Izzy is very involved in extracurricular activities such as volleyball, basketball, track, FCCLA, FBLA, Journalism, and One Act. Her favorite subjects in school are FCS and art. Some of Izzy’s favorite hobbies outside of school are hanging out with friends, spending time with family, and playing sports. 

Although she has awhile to decide, at this time, Izzy believes she wants to go to college to become a nurse or an elementary teacher someday.

“It feels really good to be able to win this award, and I'm very excited that the teachers have noticed the hard work I have been putting in this year!” Izzy said.

Here is what Izzy's teachers had to say about her: 

--“Izzy is a very hard worker and a definitely a perfectionist. She is a sweet kid who is willing to help out whenever and wherever.”

--“Izzy is a very hard worker who is kind, funny and very helpful in school.”

The second “Student of the Month” is senior Natalie Brabec. 

Natalie's parents are Dustin and Melissa Brabec. Her grandparents are Cal and Sue Fuhr and Charmayne and the late Gary Brabec. All of her grandparents are from Leigh. 

Some extracurricular activities Natalie is involved in are ​​volleyball, FCCLA, FBLA, Yearbook, Journalism, and dance. Her favorite subject is Child Development and some of her favorite hobbies outside of school are to dance and bake. 

After high school Natalie plans to major in Elementary Education or Agribusiness at Wayne State College or Northeast Community College. 

“This is a great achievement to earn my senior year!” Natalie said.

“Natalie is active with a lot of leadership roles, always in a good mood, and always works hard.”

“Natalie is a very kind and helpful person. She works very hard in class and is a positive role model for our school, especially while representing Leigh as a State FCCLA officer.”
