Freshmen and Sophomores Attend Career Day at CCC

By: Sage Fernau, a sophomore at Leigh High School

Wednesday, March 9th, was a great day for the Freshmen and Sophomores to go to Columbus Community College right before kicking off spring break.

They participated in Career Day at the college with students from various other schools. Here many businesses and event stands were set up so students could gain insight about careers they may be interested in the future.

Talking to actual professionals who work in different career fields allowed the underclassmen to gain valuable information and experience as they begin planning for their futures after high school.

Cassandra Rayback, a sophomore, said, “It was a fun experience for all of us. We got to learn about all of the different career fields. It opened our eyes to show us how many career options we have.”

Mrs. Madison Gall, high school counselor, accompanied the underclassmen on the trip.

“What a great opportunity for our students to learn how to prepare for their future careers and talk with many businesses in our area!” she said.
