Leigh Freshmen Students Capture Top Ribbons at Art Show

Brynn Settje Wins “Best of Show” in Sculpture

On April 13th the annual East Husker Conference art show was hosted at the Nielsen Center in West Point.

Students in Mrs. Ann Cerv’s art class submitted the projects that they have been working on over the year. In total, 25 ribbons were awarded to Leigh students. There were 3 purple ribbons, 7 blue ribbons, 8 red ribbons, and 7 white ribbons awarded.

            Freshman Brynn Settje was even fortunate enough to win one of the coveted “Best of Show” awards and a purple ribbon with her sculpture entitled “Rabbit.”

Other top purple ribbon honors included freshman Jared Olson, who received a purple ribbon for his tempera painting entitled “Self Portrait” and Ella Urban, who received a purple ribbon for her collage entitled “Foxy Lady”.

The students who earned a blue ribbon include Macy Clausen for her tempera painting entitled “Class Still Life”, Cortlynn Cadwallader for her collage entitled “My Heart”, Alisyn Lich for her mixed media entitled “Class Still Life Phone”, Jared Olson for his second tempera painting also entitled “Self Portrait”, Brianne Kuhr for her tempera painting entitled “Still Life”, Baylee Settje for her oil painting entitled “View From My Window”, and Tanyn Larson for her mixed media entitled “Lonely Plant.”
