Cyclones Blanked in NEN Tourney

As the Highway 91 Cyclones Softball Team is well into their busy season already, they mean
business and are ready for anything thrown their way.
On Saturday, August 27th, the Highway 91 Cyclones made the trip to Wisner for a tough day of
softball. The day started off with a close game against Pierce. The Cyclones were ready for revenge, as
they played them earlier that week, losing by more than they were hoping for. The Cyclones kept a close
game but weren’t able to pull off the win. The final score was 8-9.
The second game of the day for Highway 91 didn’t go in their favor as they played Boone
Central. The Cyclones had already played Boone Central in a regular season game and beat them, but
they couldn’t manage a win this time, losing with a score of 6-15.
The last game of the day for the Cyclones was another great game, playing the LVSS Raiders.
While Highway 91 battled throughout the entire game, they still lost 10-14. Even though the day didn’t go
as they were expecting, the Cyclones gained a lot of experience.
Sophomore Amaiya Ross said, “I thought that we played well for having such a young team. We
had some amazing hits, catches, and plays, but in the end that just didn't change the score. We weren’t
happy with the way things turned out, but we definitely worked as a team and learned from our mistakes.”
With a 2-9 record to start the season, the Cyclones are ready for the rest of their season and
hopeful to pick up a few more wins in the next few weeks!
