JH GBB Defeats Madison, Loses to Battle Creek

The Junior High Basketball girls continue to compete and play good basketball teams. With their season starting awhile back, they’ve showed great improvement throughout the season so far.

On December 3rd, the Clarkson-Leigh Patriot girls took on Battle Creek. Both teams have been having success so far this season, but they couldn’t quite pull this one off. They lost a close one against Battle Creek with a final score of 24-27.

7th Grader Tanyn Larson said, “We played out hardest, but in the end, things just didn’t work out for us.”

The girls changed a few things for the next game against the Madison Dragons on December 6 and ended up on top. The Patriots led a majority of the game and finished it out strong by taking home a win with the score of 24-16.

8th Grader Kerstyn Held said, “Our game against Madison was awesome. We played really good offense and defense, and we were constantly hustling. We really had a great game as a team and we hope to keep this momentum going for our games next week.”

Assistant Coach Melissa Brabec said, “We have a small, but mighty hard-working group of basketball players this year!  They have put a lot of determination and hard work into their fundamentals and basketball skills.”
